Birth Notification


Regulations

A child's birth must be notified within 15 days of the date of birth, as well as the name, and in accordance with the regulations concerning forenames.

Required Documents

  1. The House Registration Certificate (House Owner's copy).
  2. The Identification Card of the person notifying the birth / The Identification Cards of the father and mother (if available).
  3. Birth Certification from the hospital (If available).

Procedures

  1. Submit documents to the Registrar.
  2. The Registrar reviews the documents presented, as well as the House Registration Certificate (House Owner's copy), before issuing a Birth Certificate, section 1, and returning the House Registration Certificate to the applicant.


Late Notification of Birth


Regulations

Births must be notified within 15 days as required by law. Late notification is subject to a maximum penalty of 1,000 baht.

Required Documents

  1. The House Registration Certificate.
  2. The Identification Card of the person notifying the birth/ Identification Cards of the father and mother (If available).
  3. Birth Certification from the hospital (If available).

Procedures

  1. The person notifying the birth submits documents and evidence to the Registrar.
  2. The Registrar reviews all documents being presented and investigates the cause of late notification from the person notifying the birth, including the father and mother of the child. If the parents of the child are unable to provide sufficient information for whatever reasons, the Registrar will record the information and forward the case to the Chief District Officer to approve the issuance of the issuance of Birth Certificate.
